MYPOLONGA spearhead Aaron Zrim confirmed his reputation as one of the most feared bowlers in the competition with a frightening spell of fast bowling against Wanderers in Murray Towns A grade cricket on Saturday.
Zrim nailed 7/24 as the Tigers crushed Wanderers for just 88.
In other matches, a gutsy batting display from Meningie defied Monarto of outright victory, with Stewart Willis and Richard Boscence once again saving the day.
Karoonda announced itself as a genuine premiership threat with a demolishing win over Mannum, while Imperials completed an easy outright victory over Jervois.
Wanderers v Mypolonga
Resuming at 1/0 and chasing 172, Wanderers were never really in the hunt as Aaron Zrim completely demoralised the batting order.
Wanderers had no answer to the speedster as Zrim recorded an impressive spell of 18.5 overs with seven maidens to nail 7/24.
Zrim tore through the Woo Hoos to reduce them to 8/41 before some late order resistence from Stewart Bartlett and Kieran Jaensch salvaged some pride for the home side.
The pair put on a gutsy 46-run partnership for the eighth wicket to lift the score to 87 before Jaensch was bowled by Gene Robinson for 30.
Zrim then took the remaining wicket one run later to end Wanderers’ innings at 88 and secure an easy first innings win to the Tigers.
