PEAKE must win this week’s match against Pinnaroo match if they want to stay in touch with a chance to play finals.
Sitting one match and percentage behind Pinnaroo and Murrayville on the ladder, they have a great opportunity to draw level on points.
Peake had Lameroo beaten at three-quarter-time last week, but let a seven-goal lead disappear.
If they can reproduce the first three-quarter effort for a whole match, they can play finals.
Matt Seyers is a huge focal point for Peake and Scott Crouch has been impressive in his two matches so far.
Toby Downs and Scott Jolly provided forward options last week and Steven Morris returned to form in the ruck.
Pinnaroo was the opposite of Peake last week, having a big last quarter to put a good score on the board against BDT. Nathan Wilson is kicking goals at full forward, with Mark Gum and Chad Nickolls and Wade Nickolls also contributing.
Pinnaroo needs more goals from their smaller forwards to push the top sides. Brett Gum and Clint Muster are providing many opportunities from the midfield and Sunyl Vogt is rarely beaten.
The battle between Heath Boseley and Seyers could swing this match either way.
Peake is building some momentum and can beat Pinnaroo to have a real chance of playing finals.
Karoonda v Lameroo
Karoonda will be in shock after last week’s flogging from Murrayville.
Although travelling to Murrayville with a depleted side, they would not have envisaged such a big loss.
Luke Hocking stood up last week and Corey Knight continued his good form.
Mark Burnett is consistently amongst the best players and Jacob Neary has been a good recruit.
Lucas Neumann found some form last week and can provide strength around the ground for Karoonda.
Lameroo got away with one last week with a huge last quarter against Peake. After a great start to the year, they lost badly to BDT and then were in big trouble against Peake.
Chris Philbey remains a huge problem for most defences and Dan Wohling is a mobile half forward.
Shaun Walker, when fit, controls the midfield and Mark Benham is having a very consistent year for Lameroo.
Karoonda will improve on last week, but Lameroo will win easily.
Murrayville v BDT
Murrayville is getting back to the form of 2007 after a very poor start. When Drew Crane plays he provides a target at full forward and Shannan Wyatt is creative in a small forward role.
James Beckmann just works hard at centre half forward and Damien Fenoughty is back to his best.
Allyd Kinnersley, Paul Mjaskalo and Michael O’Malley are all capable of running forward to kick goals.
BDT are rolling along well, although they would not be happy about conceding 10 goals to Pinnaroo in the last quarter last week.
Shane Binns looks far more comfortable back at the goal front with 19 goals in his past two matches.
Josh Richardson will kick goals when resting or running forward when on the ball.
Lachlan Richardson and Luke Remfry are hard-working midfielders who set up their team-mates and Ben Hooper provides rebound from half back.
BDT are playing well and will defeat Murrayville this week.
