Missing: 23-year-old Keith man Navarone Hutchins was last seen on Friday.
POLICE have formally identified the body of a murdered man at Keith as that of missing 23-year-old Navarone Hutchins.
Meanwhile, a court in country Victoria has granted South Australia Police the right to extradite the man accused of the murder to Adelaide.
SAPOL announced today that a post-mortem had determined Mr Hutchins died from multiple injuries inflicted by a large, sharp-edged instrument, however, no murder weapon has yet been recovered.
His body was discovered on a dirt track near Emu Flat Road, about five kilometres from Keith, on Tuesday, during a search sparked by his disappearance of Friday.
Jordan Campbell, 20, of Keith, was arrested by Victorian police on Wednesday evening at Robinvale, Victoria, and charged with Mr Hutchins’ murder.
Mr Campbell faced the Mildura Magistrate’s Court earlier today and will be extradited back to South Australia.
He is expected to face the Adelaide Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
SAPOL has thanked community members for their help in gathering information leading to a quick arrest, however, detectives are still looking for several items that may assist their investigation.
Investigators are now calling on the public to help locate several items belonging to the missing man, including a pair of white Adidas sandshoes, about size 11 with blue branding, and a 16 gigabyte Samsung Galaxy S3 telephone.
Police are also hunting for white men’s sports socks, a nine carat gold chain with a gold pendant about the size of a one dollar coin, a black phone wallet and wrap-around sunglass frames missing both lenses.
