A LOUD, contagious laugh and caring personality is how Allan Kemp will remember his sister, Tracey-Lee.
The Border community has been in mourning for the 45-year-old grandmother, who was killed in a hit-and-run at Huntly.
She will be farewelled at the Lester and Son Chapel on Thomas Mitchell Drive Wodonga at 2.30pm Friday.
Mr Kemp said she was a fierce Hawks supporter who was “always there” when he needed her.
“When we lost our father 27 years ago, she became a mother figure to me over the years,” he said.
“She always put her family, friends and other people before herself.
“I can remember washing our father’s truck together when we were kids.”
Tracey-Lee, a former St Augustine’s Primary and Wodonga High student, was born and raised on the Border, but moved to Bendigo two years ago.

She had a son, Garry, and granddaughter, Lexi.
“Nearly everyone remembers her by her laugh, she was loud and liked to have a good time,” Mr Kemp said.
“She had a good sense of humour – unless the footy was on and the Hawks were getting beaten.”
Tracey-Lee was killed after she was allegedly struck by a car on the Midland Highway about 3am August 14.
Investigators said she attended a 21st birthday at the Huntly Hotel and began to walk home following an altercation after 12am.
North Bendigo teenager, Taylah Hocking, 19, was later charged with driving in a manner dangerous, failing to stop after an accident in which a person was killed, and failing to render assistance in relation to the hit-and-run. She appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates Court briefly for a filing hearing on Friday. Hocking remains on bail and will reappear in court on November 23.
Miss Kemp's partner, Slav Milovanovic, took to The Border Mail's Memories and Condolences page to put his love and pain into words.
“All that is getting me through this hard time are the memories that we've shared,” he wrote.
“I don't think you realised how much you actually meant to me.
“You were my life and soul and my everything
“It's hard waking to you not being beside me and hurts even more that it is now just a memory.
“I will always have a piece of you in my heart, which will stay there forever.”
