A 23-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested at Tailem Bend last week following his involvement in a police pursuit in Murray Bridge.
Police alleged the man was driving a stolen vehicle when he drove off without paying for petrol from a Murray Bridge service station around 2pm on Tuesday, February 7.
He was spotted and pursued by police for a short distance along Swanport Road and Mulgundawah Road before the chase was terminated for safety reasons.
Following further investigations, police located and the man at a Tailem Bend address later that day, where he was arrested for his offences.
Police also alleged the man threatened a neighbour with a knife during a dispute earlier that day.
He was charged with illegal use, three counts of drive unlicensed, make off without payment, drive dangerous to escape police, breach of bail and carry offensive weapon.
The arrested man was initially refused police bail and appeared in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court last week on Wednesday, February 8.
