A Riverland man has tragically lost his life following a major accident at the Murray Bridge motocross track in Monarto on Sunday, May 14.
Tyler Lange was competing in round two the SA Motocross Championships when the incident occurred.
On Monday, May 15, Tyler’s family released a statement explaining that he had been airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical but stable condition where he was treated in the intensive care unit.
“Whilst Tyler’s injuries are very serious and he is still in the critical early stages, he is showing signs of improvement,” the statement read.
“To Izak Maule, fellow competitor and friend of Tyler’s, the sportsmanship you showed by immediately stopping your bike and tending to Tyler, then ensuring help was coming for your fallen comrade is commendable.”
However, in another statement by the family released yesterday, May 18, the family confirmed Tyler had passed away from the injuries he sustained in the accident.
“Tyler has left footprints on so many people’s lives, and we are all richer for this. He lived life to the fullest, and even in his passing, he is still making a difference with the gift of organ donation,” the statement read.
“To the hundreds of people who have donated to the Lange Family Go Fund Me Page – thank you all so much for your generosity. We would like to donate all the money raised to another worthy cause - still to be confirmed. However, if you would like your donation refunded, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.”
In the statement, the family said the outpouring of love and support they had received gave them incredible strength during a terrible time, and they would be forever grateful for it.
