If you’re looking to find treasure or if it’s now time to part with a few treasures of your own, Sedan’s annual Swap Meet is the place to be.
The town will come alive with sellers and buyers from 8am Sunday morning.
What started as a vintage car part swap meet some 11 years ago, the Sedan Swap Meet is now an oasis of retro, antique and bric a brac pieces along with local produce.
Community groups will offer pop-up food stalls with hot food and drinks.
Swap Meet coordinator Dennis McCarthy said vintage and veteran vehicle items are still on offer but now, many people see the swap meet at Sedan as a winter destination day out.
“Over 2000 people attended the event last year where we had a diverse range of market stalls from fresh fruit and fishing tackle to vintage cars and a pet fashion line,” Mr McCarthy said.
“...I have had enquiries from buyers in Queensland, NSW and Victoria making their way to Sedan...”
Mid Murray Council Mayor Dave Burgess said Sedan turns into a giant garage sale with a twist.
“It is a beautiful drive from the Barossa or the Adelaide Foothills through Mannum to Sedan and for a town so small, it delivers a massive market where people amaze and now make the pilgrimage every year”.
Entry is on $5.00 for buyers and sellers. Cars and small trailers are free registration, only paying an entry fee. Larger sites - $5 and $10. Two $250 door prizes will be given away to buyers and sellers.
