Murray Bridge made a strong start on a cold and windy day at home.

They kept Strathalbyn from making it into their half for at the least the first five minutes of the game, Josh Flood and Sean McDonald with Joshua Pica pushed up to attempt numerous goals, but were struck with Strath’s defence holding them back.

Strathalbyn made a quick fast break, which in turn lead to MB’s Goalie – Calen McCormick out of position – allowing Strath to put the first goal on the board.

Defence of Henry Chewings, Alice Gregory, Jaidyn Willis and Jake Browning worked hard to push Strathalbyn back. Strath attempted to score from the top of the box with the wind carrying the ball, but Calen came forward to dive on the ball to save them from scoring.

First half score – 1 Nil – Strath’s way.

Coach, Shane Mc Cormick – discussed tactics at half time and the team were ready to get a score on the board.

MB continued to keep play up our end, with a few attempts at goal from Ethan McCormick and Samuel Montgomery-Pittaway.

Jaidyn, Darcy Bald and Henry played well in defence holding play to keep Strath out of goal contention. Joshua Pica, Ethan, Darcy played the ball to Sean, who was able to level the score.

A fast break from Calen taking the ball down the RHS line, saw a sneaky goal in front of the goals from Jake, putting MB in front, within five minutes after their first.

United continued to pressure Strath, but a high lofting kick at the top of the box, secured their second goal and leveling the scores.

MB fought hard to keep play up our end, with everyone working well as a team.
