Natural Resources SA Murray-Darling Basin has been awarded a grant from Inspiring South Australia to bring art and science together.

District Manager Sarah Lance said the project means half-day art classes will be held in parks across the Ranges to River District.

“Each art class will be different and all classes will have guest speakers from collaborating scientists who are undertaking work in that park along with the art teacher,” Ms Lance said.

“The art medium being taught will link to the significance of the science in the park and will highlight the uniqueness of the park and the science required for effective park management,” Ms Lance said.

Each class will cater for 15-20 participants will run throughout spring and early summer.

Classes will be advertised on the Natural Resources SAMDB website: http://www.naturalresources.sa.gov.au/samurraydarlingbasin/get-involved/events
