Fund My Neighbourhood grants
I write to provide important information about a new community grant scheme and to offer my support for organisations in the Hammond electorate, should they wish to consider applying for a grant.
One-off grants of between $10,000 and $150,000 are available, closing on Friday, September 8.
Proposals can be broad: from playground upgrades, landscaping projects, community gardens, free events and public art, to walking or cycling trails, community sheds, sports facilities and cultural projects.
However, funds cannot be used for ongoing operations and maintenance, nor for research or feasibility studies or projects that have already commenced.
Once all eligible ideas are submitted online through fundmyneighbourhood.sa.gov.au, a public vote will be cast to decide what projects will receive grants.
Any South Australian over the age of 18 can suggest an idea but all ideas must be submitted by individuals with the support of an eligible incorporated organisation with an Australian Business Number (ABN) such as a:
- non-government organisation
- local council
- sporting club
- community group
Note that submissions involving projects on privately owned land must include a land owner consent form.
There are to be two rounds: this one, and another early in 2018.
As your local member, I am happy to assist and coordinate any ideas you or your group have, and to help ensure you meet all criteria.
Additionally, if your projects proceed I would be pleased to help promote them so they can receive the important community votes they deserve!
In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me if I can assist with your application in any way.
