The Barossa woke up with Today this morning, as the popular breakfast show streamed live from Kellermeister in Lyndoch.
The live weather crosses helped to showcase the best of the upcoming Barossa Gourmet Weekend, which is just two weeks away.
Weather presenter Natalia Cooper and the Today crew were on deck from 5.30am and some keen locals braved the wet weather – and early start – to join the national broadcast.
Chef Owen Andrews and Carême Pastry’s Claire Woods were just a couple of local faces who showed off the region’s culinary attractions, and Kellermeister’s Susanna Pearce talked wine.
“The Barossa will be welcoming thousands of guests to the Barossa Gourmet Weekend on September 1-3,” Tourism Barossa chair Cathy Wills said.
“The opportunity to be featured on the Today Show this week provides an excellent profile for the Barossa and for the Gourmet Weekend, in front of a significant national audience.
“It would be great to see some guests from interstate make a spontaneous decision to head to the Barossa in a few weeks’ time, after seeing the feature of our beautiful region!”
