Adelaide Hills author Wendy Altschwager will be appearing at the Murray Bridge Library on Sunday, September 17 from 2pm.
Her rural fiction novels: Runaway, Edwina Downs, Prior Knowledge, The Pledge and Talk of the Town have been well received, not only throughout SA but in WA, Qld and Victoria. Wendy’s stories are loosely based on real-life situations from her time as a farmer’s wife, to travelling around the Western Australian wheatbelt region with her husband as grey nomads.
Wendy’s latest novel Spirit of the Country is the much awaited sequel to Talk of the Town. It is the story of a city school teacher moving to the country and the challenges faced by a small, rural community; a reflection of Wendy’s own home town.
“I love capturing country life and the real Australian larikin, a breed and culture I feel will eventually become lost,” Wendy said.
All are welcome to attend this event. Bookings are essential. For more information, contact the library on 8539 1175.
