The River Murray Netball League’s best netballers went head to head in their grand finals on Saturday, September 16.
Jervois Football and Netball Club hosted the day in wonderful, sunny conditions.
For the fourth year in a row, Imperials took out the A grade premiership in a dominant win over Mypolonga.
The Blues came out fighting and ended the first quarter with an 11 point lead, 16-5.
In the second, Mypolonga picked up their game to create a more even quarter. Imps held their lead and went into half time up 28-15.
In the third, Imperials proved their strength once again, running away with the lead and doubling their score from half time. They led 48-25 at three quarter time.
Mypolonga gave it their all in the final quarter and produced some impressive turnovers but the Blues were just too strong and took the game 62-36.
Imperials goal keeper Lucy Harkness gave an impressive performance, which landed her the best on court award.
In the A Reserves, Mypolonga proved too strong for Mannum and won after a tough final quarter, taking the game 50-44.
Best on court was given to Mypolonga goal attack Emily Frahn.
In the B Grade match, Ramblers had a strong win over Mypolonga with 43-33.
Ramblers’ goal keeper Megan Blacket was awarded best on court.
In the B Reserves, Mypolonga reigned supreme again when they beat Imperials 32-29 in a close encounter.
Mypolonga’s Catherine Challinger was awarded best on court for her efforts.
In the C Grade, Ramblers again managed to knock off Mypolonga after dominating the second half to win 58-41.
Best on court was awarded to Danielle Somerville.
Ramblers defeated Mypolonga 18-16 in their Under 11 division two final in a close ending to a close match.
Best on court was awarded to Mypolonga’s Ava Lindner.
In the Under 11 division one final, Ramblers defeated Imperials 47-30 after running away with it in the final quarter.
Best on court was awarded to Ramblers’ Lilly King.
For the Under 13 division two grand final, Tailem Bend beat Ramblers 35-23.
Best on court was awarded to Tailem Bend’s Callee Kozikowski.
Mannum defeated Imperials 35-18 in the Under 13 division one final.
Best on court was awarded to Mannum’s Kia Kluge.
In the Under 15’s division two match, Mypolonga defeated Tailem Bend 42-36.
Best on court was awarded to Mypolonga’s Molly Bretag.
For the Under 15’s division one match, Ramblers had a convincing win over Tailem Bend, 65-32.
Lucy O’Neil for Ramblers was awarded best on court.
In the Under 17’s grand final, Ramblers defeated Imperials 47-45 in a close match that went down to the wire.
Best on court was awarded to Raven Morrison for Ramblers.
