Young South Australian bands are coming to Murray Bridge to rock the 99th Murray Bridge Show.

Set on a large outdoor stage with big concert sound and lighting, Rock the Show is one of premier live music events on the Murray Bridge calendar.

Rock the Show is coordinated by Music SA students based at The Station and the Rural City of Murray Bridge (RCMB).

The Murray Bridge Show is a big community event where the Band Connections students can connect with a wide audience.

Young Murray Bridge musicians from the Music SA Band Connections program will open the concert. They will be followed by the Oliver Asel Band, Red Heart, Battle of the Bands winners Experiment One, Runaway Jetpack, Brat 86, Burning Bridges and Poets of Slam Society.

Rock the Show began two years ago at the Murray Bridge Show in a bid by the Show committee to entice younger people to come along.

RCMB youth officer Paul Ankerson said events like Rock the Show allow the Band Connections students to showcase their work to the community.

“The Murray Bridge Show is a big community event where the Band Connections students can connect with a wide audience,” he said.

Musician and Music Business student Oliver Asel said he was excited about the event. “We’re expecting it to be a great night,” Mr Asel band.

Rock the Show will be held between 5-9pm this Friday at the Murray Bridge Showgrounds.
