A Supercars round will be held at Tailem Bend in August next year.

Premier Jay Weatherill is expected to announce the deal today at 11.45am along with the developers of the $110 million Bend Motorsport Park facility, the Peregrine Corporation.

Supercars chief executive officer James Warburton previously said a Tailem Bend race could be held in August 2018, so long as all hurdles were cleared.

"Supercars has long supported the construction of the new facility at Tailem Bend and the Shahin family in building this new circuit for all forms of motorsport,” he said on the series' website.

"Subject to agreement with South Australian Tourism approval we would very much look forward to adding Tailem Bend to our 2018 racing calendar."

Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis had previously announced $3 million over three years for licensing costs in the 2017/2018 State Budget to help attract a second race to South Australia.

The Murray Valley Standard will live stream from the event on Facebook.
