A new president was elected at Murray Bridge Social Garden Group’s annual general meeting at the beginning of October.

Deirdre Kitto retired as president and Ken Wells was elected in her place.

Also elected were vice president Anne Potter, secretary Wendy Osborne, assistant secretary Margy Cook and treasurer Dianne Woidt.

We have the new faces of Brian Wright, a committee member, and Annette Wright, as one of the catering officers.

Ute Wegener, Gail Walding and Jannette Hancock have continued as committee members.

It was with sadness we noted the resignation of our patron, Jan Burgess, due to illness; but we have great delight in welcoming a foundation member, Yvonne Lablack, as our new patron.

The entertainment at the AGM was a Powerpoint on the history of the club.

Our next outing, in late October, will be the annual mystery garden tour where four members open their gardens.

Our guests this year will be the Elizabeth Garden Club.

At our next meeting on November 3, member Jan Hutchinson will talk to the members about birds she and her husband Ray have observed on their trips around Australia.

The club meets on the first Friday of each month at 9.45am, except in January.

All are welcome.

Don’t forget: good gardening, good fun, good fellowship.

We have great delight in welcoming a foundation member, Yvonne Lablack, as our new patron.
