From Monday, Australians will be searching for, and recording, the annual BirdLife Australia’s Aussie Bird Count, and this year the aim is to count 1.5 million birds in seven days. The #AussieBirdCount app, which has now been released, includes a bird finder which allows anyone to identify birds by entering different traits such as size and colour.

Last year more than 61,000 people participated from backyards, parks and more. To register and download the app, visit www.aussiebirdcount.org.au.
