Our Butcher @ Cowell are excited to be celebrating one full year of serving the community under the ownership of Craig and Joanne Klingberg.
Craig and Joanne Klingberg officially bought the store from Andrew and Sarah Bedell on October 31 last year, when their youngest son Alec had almost completed his butchering apprenticeship.
Now a year later, the Klingbergs are ready to thank all their customers and suppliers for their support.
On Tuesday Our Butcher @ Cowell will celebrate with free birthday cake all day long. At the same time, for the entire week every customer that spends $50 or more in store will go into the draw to win half a dressed sheep.
Craig and Joanne hope the week of celebrations will in a small way show their appreciation to the community.
For Craig, a farmer and Coolanie fencing contractor, and Joanne, a registered nurse, purchasing the butcher shop was a whole new experience.
All the butcher shop meat is sourced as local as possible and working closely with local farmers and processing our stock through David Wiseman, Cowell Meat Service, ensures the best quality stock is put through the shop, striving for a real paddock to plate experience.
The entire team at Our Butcher @ Cowell have been thrilled with their first year and are keenly looking forward to the next.

Our Butcher @ Cowell have been lucky to employ a great group of people, who add expertise and character to the store.
Managing the shop is Phill Shannon, who has many years of butchering experience and is a steadying influence. Working alongside him is Lewis Helps, a young qualified butcher from Mallala.
Owner Craig Klingberg and son Jake manage the wheat and sheep farm and help out in the back of the shop when needed. Joanne also works in the shop along with Mandi McFarlane, ensuring prompt, efficient customer service.
Craig and Joanne say they have been lucky to employ such wonderful staff, whose knowledge and attitudes have been vital to the success of the shop.
Our Butcher @ Cowell cook and smoke their own bacon and will soon be starting to cook and smoke their popular hams ready for Christmas. They are also happy to do private cut ups of sheep and beef.
The shop provides meat to various businesses, clubs and hotels across the Eyre Peninsula, and it is this continued support that has made their first year such a success.
Our Butcher @ Cowell are also excited to be researching and developing a seafood supply chain, and will soon be offering a variety of fresh seafood, all of which will be caught and processed locally.
