Friendly Street Poets to host reading, book launch in Murray Bridge

Friendly Street Poets will host an open mic poetry reading at the Seventh Day Adventist Hall, Murray Bridge between 10am and 12.30pm this Thursday.

The annual reading provides local poets and Friendly Street members with an opportunity for their work to be published in the group’s annual anthology – in this case, the 42nd volume, to be launched in 2018.

Everyone is welcome to attend, whether to read or to enjoy the poetry of others; poets are invited to risk publication and bring two copies of their poems for consideration by the editors.

Each speaker will have four minutes at the mic.

Tea, coffee and morning tea will be provided.

A $5 fee for participants will include annual membership of Friendly Street Poets.

The morning will also include the country launch of Friendly Street Poets Anthology 41: Worlds in Words and the Edwards Crossing Writers Group poetry book A Weaving of Words.
