A CYCLIST says he was pelted with an ice-filled cup from the passenger seat of a green Hyundai Excel as he sped along the Pacific Highway at Hexham on Saturday afternoon.

Cyclist Noel Bromage posted two stills from a video to the Hunter District Cycling and Friends Facebook page on Saturday night, showing a young man leaning from the window of the car, adorned with green P-plates.

“This guy hit me with a iced filled drink container as the car passed me riding back from racing Saturday afternoon,” Mr Bromage wrote.

“Broke my glasses and cracked my helmet.

“Luckily kept my balance got home safely.”
