Police warn Murray Bridge residents about doorknocker approaching houses and asking for money

Police are asking community members to be vigilant following a recent theft.

On Monday November 6, a woman attended a house in Murray Bridge asking for money.

The elderly occupant refused and the woman asked to use the toilet. After being allowed to use the facilities the woman left the house. The occupant subsequently found cash missing.

The woman is described as Caucasian, in her late 20’s, with brown hair and speaks with a New Zealand accent.

Police had become aware that a woman matching a similar description has allegedly been knocking on doors asking for money. It is thought that she may be targeting elderly victims.
