The Rambler Football Club have appointed Scott Prebble as senior coach for the 2018 River Murray Football League season.
Prebble brings with him a fresh and knowledgeable approach to the position, having coaching experience in many levels including roles at a number of SANFL clubs. He is currently the game development officer at the Woodville West Torrens Football Club and Carlton’s state recruiting manager.
He was an assistant coach at Norwood from 2013-2016 and Walkerville Football Club and coached Woodville West Torrens’ Womens under 17 side this year.
Hailing from Naracoorte, home of the strong Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League, Prebble had a keen understanding of country football and was eager to get back involved at a grass roots level.
On accepting the position, Prebble said he was thrilled by the prospect of working with the current playing list to implement a game plan that is exciting to play and watch.
“Most importantly, I am delighted with the local and junior talent the club has and am keen to nurture this and follow their development through the course of the season,” he said.
“Rambler Football Club is in an exciting position heading into season 2018 and I look forward to the challenge of building on what is already a proud and successful club.”
Rambler President Brendan O’Neil said the club’s administration was impressed with Scott.
“Following the 2017 season, the senior teams have a good foundation to build on and Scott’s appointment, along with the key signing of Nick Pearce, has us all excited by next seasons prospects,” he said.
“Bring on 2018.”
The Rambler Football Club wanted to thank Simon Fidge for his commitment over the past four years, where Ramblers had great success including league undefeated premiers in 2016 and reserves premiers from 2014-2017.
All players, junior and senior and supporters are invited to Meet and Greet the 2018 Senior Coach at 6.30pm - Friday November 17 at the Rambler clubrooms.
Pre-season training begins Wednesday November 22.
