Along with The Standard’s Nick Grimm, Glenn Power was at the opening of Tailem Bend’s latest attraction and snapped a few photos.
After two-and-a-half years of planning, the Uneek Animals display, consisting of tin versions of the Coorong district’s wildlife, was officially opened by Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick next door to the town’s visitor information centre on Friday, November 10.
The project was an initiative of the Tailem Bend Lions Club.
Coorong Mayor Neville Jaensch said the tin park was an asset to the community.
“It is a privilege for the council to have this asset and it is a credit to our unique communities,” he said at the opening.
Project manager Bob Simcock said it had been a long-running but a great initiative.
