Santa is coming to town – Tailem Bend that is!
It is almost time for the Tailem Bend Christmas Parade, the town’s annual festive celebration that heralds in Santa’s visit before Christmas Day.
There are some exciting new entries this year, and the best thing is that it’s not too late for groups, organisations and individuals to enter a float.
Last year there were a range of characters and floats to keep everyone smiling.
From elves to pirates, a fish to a snowman, and underwater world to a group of rowers, there was so much to see.
And, don’t forget there is a great bunch of characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Elmo and Bugs Bunny.
There are also awards for the best overall, community, humorous and original floats.
The community event will be held on Saturday, December 16, with the parade starting at 6pm.
After the parade has wound its way down Railway Terrace there is a host of family fun for everyone. There will be a great line-up of musical entertainment, including Lee Brocky and the Outback Overdrive plus carollers, raffles and food stalls.
The show will be hosted by stalwart Darren Gurney.
For the children there will be face painting, jumping castles and a velcro sticky wall and then there is the amazing Wonderland, where they can have photos taken with Santa.
