Car roll over near Monarto | PHOTOS

UPDATE:

A vehicle crashed and rolled over on the South Eastern Freeway yesterday, about two minutes before the Monarto exit.

At around 11am, the vehicle veered off the highway and hit a guard rail before rolling and coming to a rest upside down in a nearby drainage ditch. 

The sole occupant was trapped in the vehicle until emergency services arrived.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, and was flown to the Flinders Medical Centre to undergo treatments. 

The entire front end of the vehicle suffered heavy damage and required a tow truck to remove it from the site.

SA Police, Country Fire Service, Ambulance and the State Emergency Service attended the crash scene. 

A Medstar helicopter was also called to the scene.

SA Police were unaware what caused the incident. Investigations were ongoing at the time of print.

East-bound traffic headed towards Murray Bridge was slowed until the tow truck arrive to clear the scene at around 12.45pm.
