Festive spirit continued to make its way through the region thanks to the generosity of members of the Murraylands Community Men’s Shed (MCMS).

On Monday Murray Bridge Salvation Army Captain Tim Watson was presented with a $2000 donation on behalf of the organisation from MCMS President John Cockburn.

“The reason we are able to do this is because of the unbelievable support we have had from the community over the year,” said MCMS Secretary Mick Loeckenhoff.

“We know this money is going to be used for local families in need and it means a lot to us to be able to give back and we’re happy to help out where we can.”

Tim Watson said he was “thrilled” with the donation and the generosity shown by members of the MCMS.

Salvation Army’s Lynn Wassenaar said the donation will allow them to support families in the local community with Christmas hampers and food donations heading into the festive season.

“With the generosity of the MCMS and what they’ve given us we can provide more to the families in need.”
