An allegedly stolen car was found ablaze on Saturday night.

Police and fire crews were called to attend a car fire on Edinburgh Road, Murray Bridge, at 9:45pm on Saturday night after an allegedly stolen vehicle was found ablaze.

The vehicle in question was a Holden Commodore sedan allegedly stolen from Valley View, with the license plate number registratered to an address in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.

Fire emergency services were called to the scene to extinguish the fire before crime scene investigators were able to attend and assess the wreckage.

Two witnesses of the incident allegedly saw two nondescript males run to get in a dark coloured four wheel drive and fled the scene once the alleged crime had been committed. 

Investigations into the theft and the damaging of propety continue with police still seeking to confirm the identity and motivation of the perpetrators.
