Anyone in the Murray Bridge area on January 20 is welcome to help raise “much needed funds” through Bunnings’ annual Emergency Services Volunteers BBQ.

Sausages will be sizzling between 9am and 4pm with donations to go directly to support Meningie Country Fire Service.

South Australian Country Fire Service Chief Greg Nettleton said he is always excited for this time of year to roll around as it’s great to see the community come together to help support the emergency services.

“Every day our volunteers support people in emergencies from vehicle accidents and hazardous material spills, to structural fires and bushfires,” he said.

“It is a rare service with exceptional people committed to helping protect South Australian communities.”

Bunnings Murray Bridge Complex Manager Damian Aimers said the BBQ is a “terrific” way for team members and all Australians to show their appreciation for these “everyday heroes” and the work they carry out.
