Women's Tour Down Under and SA Championship Penny-farthing races

Hundreds of people flocked to The Bend Motorsport Park on Saturday morning for the very first events held at the newly-laid racetrack.

Stage 3 of the Women's Tour Down Under began at the event, before riders travelled through Murray Bridge and turning off onto the Old Princes Highway towards the finish line in Hahndorf.

The SA Penny-farthing championships were held in the morning, and the Revolve 24 event kicked-off at 3pm.

Peregrine Corporation director and Motorsport Park developer Sam Shahin said it was great to see an event finally being held at the track, but that work was far from over.

“It’s very good to have these events at the park, but we’ve got a long way to go yet until the rest of it is completed,” he said on Saturday.
