Police stopped man on mobile phone and discovered offensive weapon

Police stopped a man in Murray Bridge at midday last Wednesday for using a mobile phone while driving.

Police checks revealed the man’s licence had been disqualified and a search of the car uncovered a knife tucked next to his car seat and an ice pipe in a bag.

The 40 year-old man from Murray Bridge was arrested for driving while disqualified, carrying an offensive weapon, possession of an ice pipe and using a mobile phone while driving.

His car was impounded for 28 days and he was bailed to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates court on March 20.
