On Thursday the doors of the Murray Bridge Hall will open to the community to attend this year’s International Women’s Day event.
The local event is hosted by Soroptomist International Murray Bridge, with Annette Korzeba returning as MC, and commemorates the movement for women’s rights.
Guests will be welcomed by chairperson of the ‘Seeds of Affinity’ project Linda Fisk, a strong advocate for the human rights of women in prison.
International American music educator, soprano soloist and founding director of the Murray Bridge Children’s Choir will provide entertainment on the day. The Murray Bridge Players and Singers will perform Helen Reddy’s Song ‘I Am Woman.’
Key note speakers include Drs Heather Anderson and Charlotte Bedford, who have been involved in prisoner radio for over 10 years and Anna Kemp, an awardee of Australia’s Local Hero Award who initiated ‘Seeds of Affinity’. Doors open at 9:30am, with the event kicking-off at 10. RSVP on 8539 1420.
