Voters who will be unable to get to their normal polling place on election day, March 15, are being encouraged to make use of early voting options.

In Port Augusta there is an early voting centre at 77 Commercial Road.

This is open weekdays from 9am-5pm until Friday, March 14.

South Australia’s Electoral Commissioner Kay Mousley said voters could also cast their vote at a polling place in another district if they were away from home on election day.

“Voting is compulsory and these options have been designed to make it as easy as possible for people who will be away from their normal polling place on election day to vote,” she said.

“People can either apply for a postal vote, fill it in and return it by mail on or before election day, March 15, or, if they prefer, attend an early voting centre any time up until election day.”

On election day, those in Port Augusta will be able to vote at Cooinda Club, TAFE SA Port Augusta Campus, Flinders View Primary School gym, all three venues have assisted wheelchair access.
