A BUS has been badly damaged after it burst into flames on Friday morning.
Just after 9am, the Metropolitan Fire Service and Country Fire Service responded to reports of a bus on fire in a backyard on Thomas Street, Murray Bridge.
Murray Bridge MFS station officer Adrian Puust said the fire had caused extensive damage to the bus.
The nearby house was not damaged in the blaze.
The smell of smoke is still present in the area but the fire was extinguished by 9.40am.
Emergency service crews are still on scene ensuring no embers reignite.
