Mid Murray Family Connections launches its Community Accountability Plan

UNVEILED: Member for Schubert Stephan Knoll, Mid Murray Family Connections member Joy Marks, Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick and Mid Murray Mayor Dave Burgess launch the community accountability plan.
In a world where “everyone is mad at somebody because nobody did what anybody could have done”, Mid Murray Council decided to act and better the lives of vulnerable children in the region.
After three years of work between a diverse network of services, Mid Murray Family Connections (MMFC) launched its Community Accountability Plan on Thursday, October 27.
Mannum Baptist Church Pastor Colin Nieass opened the launch, explaining that producing the finished plan was only the beginning of a long-term initiative.
Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick officially launched the plan by acknowledging that supporting families in need was paramount.
“This program adds supports for children and parents in a world that gets busier by the minute,” he said.
“With one in three Mid Murray children experiencing developmental vulnerability, MMFC recognised the need for shared responsibility across all sectors of the community to produce large scale, long-lasting results.”
