Reducing re-offending: ex-prisoners need support outside

As a community, how can we work together to keep ex-prisoners on the straight and narrow after their release?

That question will be the focus of an invitation-only forum at Murray Bridge Town Hall between 11am and 1.30pm on Wednesday.

There will be a demonstration by Department of Correctional Services security dogs, stalls will offer information and local leaders will speak about the problem.

The state government hopes to reduce re-offending by 10 per cent by 2020.

Note: An earlier version of this story suggested the event would be open to the public. The department later clarified that attendance is by invitation only.
