A wanted man has been arrested following an extensive police chase in Murray Bridge on Friday night, August 18, in which police called in a helicopter to track the suspect.
About 9pm, a patrol car spotted the suspect, who was wanted for other offences, driving a Holden sedan and police attempted to stop the vehicle.
When it sped off, patrols requested the police helicopter to assist in monitoring the car.
Police reported the man drove along the South Eastern Freeway and various other roads, before driving over road spikes on Rocky Gully Road.
The car drove on for several minutes before stopping at the rear of the Murray Bridge police station, where the driver was arrested and his car was impounded.
The 28-year-old man from Woodville will face numerous charges including engaging in a police pursuit and other traffic offences.
He was refused bail will appear in court today, Monday, August 21.
