Mypolonga Country Women’s Association Branch members celebrated their 70th birthday recently with a luncheon at the Mannum Community Club.
President Janelle Traeger welcomed everyone and mentioned that it was great to see most of the seven members attend and thanked the visitors for joining them.
Although only a small Branch nowadays compared to the vast numbers in days past, Mypolonga CWA is still active in the Community. Members are flexible when they meet monthly to accommodate the working members. They also participate in the days organised by the Hills and Murray Group in the area that stretches from Jervois to Uraidla.
An afternoon highlight was the presentation of a 20-year Service Badge to Roslyn Jones, recognising her service to the Branch as Secretary and Handicraft Officer. Members enjoyed a cake made by Ms Jones’ grand-daughter and talked and retold stories of their years in CWA .
