Murray Bridge church seeks funding to replace asbestos roof

The Catholic parish of Murray Bridge has begun an appeal for funds to re-roof the church.

Most Holy Redeemer Church on Mannum Road was built in 1910 and officially opened in 1911 by the first Parish Priest, Fr Cornelius Crowley.

The total cost of the building and land was £1,600.

In the 1970s asbestos tiles were placed on top of the corrugated roof and now those tiles are showing signs of movement.

The removal of asbestos, and placement of a new roof is expected to cost up to $100,000 and the Catholic parish is seeking funds.

A sponsorship programme is in place so donors will be acknowledged on a Donor Board for three years and gain advertising in the parish magazine.

Various levels of sponsorship are available.

Please phone the parish office on 8531 1699 for details.
