Upgrade for Bowhill's Waste Transfer Station

Work will begin on upgrading Bowhill’s Waste Transfer Station in early 2018 to improve the general aesthetics of the site.

Nearly $48,000 of state government funding was granted to the Mid Murray Council, which council will match, making a total of $95,200 dedicated to the project.

Mid Murray Council Director of Infrastructure Services, Greg Hill said the upgrade would bring the service level of the Bowhill facility in line with Council’s nine other waste transfer facilities, which have all been upgraded in the last five years.

“It will mean a better facility for Bowhill residents to use and overall, it will improve the general aesthetics of the site,” he said.

“There will be a new ramp for people to access the skip bins, new perimeter fencing and a general site clean-up.”

Works will begin over the New Year period.
