Smarter Murraylands farming with grants

Farmers, industry and community groups can now apply for Landcare grants of between $5000 and $10,000 to help with soil, vegetation and biodiversity improvements and protection.

Member for Barker Tony Pasin said farmers knew how important it was to protect and care for the land so it can be passed on to future generations.

“People in the Murraylands and Mallee value what the National Landcare Program has brought to the table since it started in 1989,” he said.

“I know that our primary producers are innovators, and the government is supporting that innovative thinking to help local farmers continue to profitably farm smarter, not harder.

“I encourage all those interested in preserving this land to get in touch with my office to find out more about the Smart Farms programs and how to apply.

Applications will close on December 7. For more information visit
