Local tennis player Anne Rossiter has come home with two silver medals after competing in the 2018 South Australian Tennis Championships for people with an intellectual disability.
Held on the weekend of November 18 and 19, Rossiter competed in five singles matches and four doubles throughout out the tournament.
Players from interstate also competed in the hard court tournament, adding another layer of competition.
In the tournament final, Rossiter lined up against one of her oldest friends.
“I played Wendy Farmer, my best friend,” she said. “It was a lot of fun.”
Having previously won the championships in 2015, Rossiter said she was glad her friend had won it.
“Me and Wendy have played lots of sports together – I’m really happy she won this year,” she said.
From here, Rossiter will travel to Melbourne for the Australian Championships in January.
“It’s exciting, Melbourne will be lots of fun and will be tough,” Rossiter said.
