Wanderers hosted Monarto and it was Monarto winning the toss and electing to bat first. Monarto were soon in trouble at 2/2 with the loss of both inform openers Jacob Rance (2) and Daniel Matthews (0).
Ty Pfeiffer (14) and Harrison Webb (42) then set about rebuilding the inns and were looking in total control of the Wanderers bowlers until Nathan Pfeiller was brought into the attack and he removed both Pfeiffer and Webb to swing the match back in Wanderers favour. Monarto then crawled their way to 144 before being bowled out in the 45th over.
Jalen Kowalick (4/27) and Pfeiller (3/33) were the best of the Wanderers bowlers. In chase of 145 for victory Wanderers only lost three wickets before reaching the target in the 43rd over with Ryan Morris (62no) and Steve Baultussen (29no) combining for an unbeaten fourth wicket partnership of 95. Best with the ball for Monarto was Brad Lienert (1/31) off 8 overs.
JERVOIS v KAROONDA
Jervois hosted Karoonda and it was Karoonda winning the toss and electing to bat first in perfect conditions for cricket. Rhys Bullard and Harry Dunn got the visitors off to a solid start reaching 31 before Dunn (11) was dismissed by Craig Fidge (2/10) and when Josh Smithson (0) departed next ball the Karoonda side were in a trouble at 2/31.
Zak Bullard (38) then joined brother Rhys (39) at the crease and the pair rebuilt the Magpies’ innings before the Karoonda lost 6/24 to be bowled out for 143 in only the 35th over. Ben Dawson was the best of the Jervois bowlers taking (4/28) off six overs with his crafty off spin.
Jervois didn’t get off to the best of starts and were 3/39 but it was Andrew Fidge (59no) and Ben Dawson (23) who stepped up in a match-winning partnership of 50 before Fidge guided his side home in the 50th over for an important win. Ayden Smith (2/22) was the pick of the Karoonda bowlers.
MYPO v MENINGIE
Meningie hosted Mypolonga and it Mypo won the toss and elected to bat first. Tyson Bradley took the new ball for the home side and he started brilliantly taking the wickets of Sam Elliot (0) and Jared Marston (20) to have the Tigers 2/29.
Aaron Zrim (78) then steadied the ship for the visitors combing with Scott Anderson (10) in a 58-run partnership before some handy late order hitting from Rick Berling (23) got the visitors to 5/184 after their 50 overs. Tyson Bradley (2/16) off his 10 overs was the pick of the Meningie bowlers.
In reply, Meningie’s run chase didn’t begin well with the early losses of James Lawson (0) and Jye Camac (4) but Jack Richards and Stewart Williss then brought Meningie back into the game with a 45-run partnership before Richards (26) departed.
It was then a one-man show with Williss (61) being the 9th wicket down before Meningie was bowled out for 130 in the 44th over. Aaron Zrim (3/13) was the best of the Mypolonga bowlers.
