Rockleigh residents hoping to keep Steep Hill Road open will find out whether their lobbying has succeeded at a council meeting on February 12.
The Murray Bridge council received a petition from 112 residents, friends and family members on Monday night, requesting that the road be restored to a standard that would allow ordinary vehicles to use it once again.
The petitioners felt Steep Hill Road was an essential emergency exit and important to future population growth.
Resident Penny Heighes had spoken to councillors last month about the road's badly eroded state.
The council noted the petition and will respond at its next meeting.
