The Bend Motorsport Park’s drift, kart and rally cross circuit develops | PHOTOS, VIDEO

Construction work is continuing at The Bend Motorsport Park, which will host its first motor racing event in less than 10 weeks.

The venue's dedicated circuit for drifting, karting and rally cross is emerging from the dust.

That circuit has been designed according to Commission Internationale de Karting specifications, making it capable of hosting international karting events.

While no such event has yet been announced, three others have so far been locked in.

Round one of the 2018 Shannons Nationals, which incorporate half a dozen categories of racing including the Australian GT Endurance Championship, will be held at The Bend on April 13-15.

Two-wheeled racing will follow soon after when rounds of the Asia Road Racing Championship and Australian Superbike Championship are held jointly over April 19-22.

The Bend Supercars Supersprint will bring the nation's V8 heroes to the track on August 24-26.
