A fox baiting program was offered across the Mallee and Coorong districts in a bid to manage the detrimental effects of foxes.
Last week baits were distributed throughout the region in an attempt to manage detrimental effects of foxes on agriculture and the environment and to help boost lambing survival rates.
The program aims, through a coordinated group approach, to achieve a significant reduction in foxes in the area.
Natural Resources SAMDB District Manager Paul Gillen foxes were a significant pest in the area.
“(They) have a large impact on agriculture and the environment through predation, the spread of weed seeds and disease and damage to infrastructure,” he said.
