Murray Bridge women teams score wins

The game between Murray Bridge Royal and Tailem Bend finished as a two-rink win to Royal with a overall score of 66-51.

Helen Lindners’ team of Janine Logan, Kaye Hughes and Joan Cassidy played Tailem’s team of Lyn Weckert, Ann Priest, Beryl Freak and Coral Bristow. It was a game of low scoring ends with the highest a three.

At the break on the 11th end the score was 8-9 then Royals went on to win the next five ends which gave them a good lead 18-9, then went on to win the game with a core of 24-13.

Skipper Joan Jackson played Tailem skipper Karen Kneebone which was still close on the 11th end 10-12. Overall Royal won nine ends to Tailem's 12 which gave the Eagles the win with a score of 17-25.

Skipper Jenny Schiller, Royal, played Margaret Woidt,  and got a good start by winning the first seven ends, within there was two threes three twos and two single shots.

This was a game where Royal won 13 ends to Tailem Bend 8, at the break the score was 16-5 them Tailem scored a five on the 14th which put them back into the game,16-11, but the final score was 25-13.

MURRAY BRIDGE MAROON  v  KAROONDA

This was a home game for Maroon where Karoonda found the green a tad too fast so it was a game where Maroon had a win with an overall score of 85-35.

Maroon skipper Kristeena Kirchner played skipper Belinda O'Malley and  started well with a four on the first two ends.

Maroon won nine of the first 11 ends to the lunch break with the score 19-3 then Karoonda won the next three ends with a four on the 13th end then a three on the 20th which bought them back into the game.

From the 11th end Maroon won four of the remaining 10 ends to Karoonda six, which put the final score to Maroon 23, Karoonda 16.

Jan Kennedy's team of Rosalie Shilton, Jan a'Beckett and Sue Eory played the Karoonda team of Val Herrmann, Phyllis Wegner, Kath Wooldridge and Carlene Schulz.

This was a good game for Maroon, winning 14 ends of the 21 played with two fours and a five with the remainders being single shots and twos.

Karoonds's highest scoring end was a three with the final score 28-10.

Skipper Kay Sime's team of Sandra Penrose, Barbara Herber and Fay Campbell played the Karoonda team of Barbara Pope, Yvonne Burdett, Wendy Barrett and Jane Pascoe.

At the break on the 11th end the score was 10-7. Maroon went out determined and went on to win nine of the remaining 10 ends with a four and two fives, which gave them the win with a score of 34-9.
