Car rollover near Tailem Bend injures Mount Gambier man, woman

The Princes Highway will remain closed to east-bound traffic at Monteith this afternoon following a single-car rollover.

The car’s driver, a 78-year-old man from Mount Gambier, was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries after the crash, which occurred at 11.15am.

His passenger, a 70-year-old woman, was taken there by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuiries.

Major crash investigators are at the scene.


Emergency services are responding to a crash on the Princes Highway five kilometres north of Tailem Bend.

Two people are reportedly trapped in the aftermath of the crash, which was reported just after 11.15am.

A rescue helicopter has been summoned from Adelaide.
