Award-winning junk artist Steve Oatway is introducing vibrancy and art of “contrasting effect” through his exhibition ‘Juxtapose’, now on display at the Mannum Dock Museum’s Arnold Gallery.

“I believe my exhibition is a reflection of a quote by guitarist Pat Metheny, ‘I’m always trying to find connections between things. That art is the juxtaposition of a lot of things that seem unrelated but add up to something recognisable”.

The exhibition features junk art sculptures, created by using recycled found objects, pop art style paintings, op-shop treasures and an instillation from his time in the APY lands.

Mid Murray Mayor Dave Burgess said the region was fortunate to have many talented artists.

“Steve’s passionate exhibition takes you on a journey of story telling through innovative sculpture and bold imagery and colour,” he said.

The exhibition is now on show until June 30, seven days a week. Visit www.psmarion.com for further information.
