Police are searching for a vehicle which has been reported as stolen after pursuing the alleged thief in the early hours of Sunday morning

Police are searching for a Ford Fiesta which was allegedly stolen from a Murray Bridge home in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

Just before 3.30 police attempted to stop a red Hyundai sedan for traffic offences.

The driver refused to stop and was pursued on Rocky Gully Road, before the pursuit was terminated shortly after for safety reasons.

Enquiries were made with the registered owner who reported the vehicle had been stolen from Rocky Gully Road earlier that morning. The vehicle was located on Cypress Terrace.

At about 4.30, a resident in Cypress Terrace reported a break-in where the suspect had allegedly entered through a rear door and took the victim’s handbag containing keys to a blue Ford Fiesta. 

The suspect was spotted at an Adelaide Road service station. CCTV footage was examined by police where they obtained a description of the driver.

The alleged thief has been described as being of Aboriginal appearance, solid build, in his late 20s and has a goatee beard.

He was wearing a grey sweatsuit, black and white sports shoes and on black glove on his right hand.

The vehicle’s registration is S983BEH.
