Tailem Bend's Duane Edwards and Murray Bridge's Darren Niblett, now playing at Toorak-Burnside, have both been named marquee players in the new, franchise-based competition.

Edwards will play for the Eastern Raiders and Niblett for the Heysen Comets.

Each of the league's eight clubs has now finalised a list of 12 players, half selected from metropolitan and country zones and half through a draft on June 7.

All Lower Murray bowling clubs fall within the Raiders' zone, as do Lameroo, Geranium and Mount Pleasant.

The Southern Blazers' zone includes Strathalbyn and surrounds, the South Eastern Spartans take players from Coonalpyn and Tintinara, and Swan Reach feeds into the Mallee Pirates.

Eight Murraylands and Mallee bowlers had nominated for the draft, including Murray Bridge RSL's Noel and Karen Kneebone and Tailem Bend's Sam Shepherd, but none were selected.

Bowls SA operations manager Erin Haines said the level of interest in the draft had been overwhelming, as 207 players put their names forward for 48 spots.

West Lakes' Steven Dennis was the number-one pick.

All SA Super League games will be played undercover at Salisbury, beginning on July 27.
